NT 4250DCG / 1500SZ

The perfect fusion of milling and turning, the ultimate integrated mill turn center.

The ultimate integrated mill turn center surpasses the individual machining abilities of machining centers and CNC lathes. It offers increased productivity and superior process integration, thanks to its cutting-edge technology.

Driven at the Center of Gravity - Technology to minimize vibration
When a structural component of the machine moves, rotation vibration proportional to the distance between the driving point and the center of gravity is generated. By driving structural components at their center of gravity, DCG® (Driven at the Center of Gravity) technology minimizes vibration, and optimizes the quality of machined surfaces, accuracy, machining time, and tool life. Only Mori Seiki has Driven at the Center of Gravity machines.

Direct Drive Motor
Because the drive power is transmitted directly, without going through gears, these motors enable highly efficient drive, and there is no backlash either. And because there are fewer parts to wear out, there is less maintenance and longer product life. Trans-mission efficiency is dramatically improved compared with conventional worm gear systems, allowing high-speed feed. And at Mori Seiki we manufacture these motors 100% in-house, for even higher quality and reliability.

Built-in Motor Turret
In the milling structure of conventional lathes, the power from the motor was transmit-ted through many parts such as gears and belts, causing heat and vibration over a wide area. Mori Seiki has placed the motor inside the turret for the world's first "built-in" structure. This revolutionary design minimizes heat generation and vibration while eliminating transmission losses. The new design increases both machining accuracy and cutting performance.

Octagonal Ram Construction
Mori Seiki has developed the ORC (Octagonal Ram Construction), a revolutionary feed structure with an octagonal shaped ram. The ORC preserves the advantage of conventional square guides, their superior damping characteristics, while overcoming their disadvantage, the sliding resistance caused by high-speed travel. The heat symmetrical structure minimizes thermal displacement. The center of the moving part stays in the same position, allowing high-precision machining during high-speed travel
