The Ultra ZV5500 Heavy Duty #50 Taper VMC
The Ultra ZV5500 is a massive 44” x 22” x 22” vertical machining center that features an 8,000 RPM 50 taper spindle with 35 horsepower, and 2,362 ipm rapid traverse rates in X, Y axes and 1,653 ipm in Z axis. This machining center is the perfect solution for general purpose oilfield machining as well as high speed aluminum machining.
This 19,000 lb machine has a one piece bed casting designed with special reinforced ribs for increased stability and load capacity. The slide ways feature roller type LM guide ways bolted to the rigid bed. The machine positioning accuracy is + 0.0004" over 12 inch stroke. Repeatability is + 0.00012".
A 20 station, automatic tool changer allows fixed address to tools 13.3" long and weighing 22 pounds (max. option 44 pounds). Large tools of 7" in diameter can be handled if the adjacent pockets remain empty. The #50 taper spindle is available in CAT or BT standard. The carousel is mounted with the tool change mechanism completely sealed from the work space, accessible thru an auto shutter door.
The machine is offered with a coolant thru spindle type of spindle cartridge that features a lubrication system that directly lubricates oil at the spindle bearings and prevents spindle thermal distortion.
