Coupling Solutions

Marathon offers a wide range of CNC turning centers for machining premium and API couplings and connectors. Our heavy duty Vantage and Danobat lathes are equipped with linear glass scales, preloaded ball screws and precision, rugged spindles to successfully machine premium and super premium couplings. For high volume production we offer the SMW-Autoblok indexing chucks, featuring high volume coolant thru chuck system to evacuate chips fast. As an option, we can offer in-process laser thread gauging to further increase quality and production rate.

CIH (7,9,13 – Indexing Chuck)

The CIH model is a horizontal lathe with a single spindle and a 45º slant bed with box ways. This model is designed to work with an indexing chuck and automatic loading and unloading system. As the chuck indexes 180º the CIH does the threading on both sides of the coupling in a single chucking. The heavy duty hydraulic drum type turret with four positions at 90º is equipped to work with high pressure coolant thru the tools.

TCN 14 2C - 2T + Gantry

The TCN 14 2C2T is a double spindle, four axes high production coupling threading machine for API and Premium connections. In this case, it is provided with a Siemens 840 D CNC control and two main drives of 60/71 kW (95 hp). Both upper turrets are provided with 8 position direct clamping tool holder disks that are suitable to do the machining of the O.D and the I.D of the coupling. They are equipped with high pressure coolant thru the tool system. Each turret machines one half of the coupling that is transferred from one to other spindle by an automatic Gantry loading and unloading system.
